NHK BS1 Special - “Cyuramori Yanbaru”

Writer's picture: Island Bat Research GroupIsland Bat Research Group

It was our pleasure last year to help NHK coordinate a documentary on Yanbaru forest (Okinawa). During our joint work in the field, our team was followed by a TV crew during a week and we aimed at showing the unique bats of Yanbaru forest and also how bat research works.

The documentary was finalized by NHK and aired on the following dates:

May 15, 11PM-11:50

Repeat May 19, 6:10 PM- 7PM

Spoiler alert: This documentary features exclusively the capture of one of Japan's rarest bats!
